Laetitia Zecchini « Translation as literary activism: on invisibility and exposure, Arun Kolatkar and the little magazine ‘conspiracy' »

Updated on 24/11/2014

Intervention : Laetitia Zecchini

The first annual symposium on literary activism organized by the University of East Anglia in India takes place in Calcutta on 2nd, 3rd and 4th of December. ‘Literary Activism’ is a form of activism undertaken on behalf of, rather than through, the literary: although the distinction necessarily breaks down.

Neither a celebrity-driven literary festival nor an academic conference, the symposium is a conversation between writers, academics, editors and publishers from all over the world.

Thematic axes : Transculturalités // Transculturalities, Transferts culturels dans les arts et la littérature, Dynamiques interculturelles, Politiques des littératures et des arts : enjeux et situations

Keywords : Literature, Poetry, Indian Studies, Translation
