Since Mallarmé, poetic texts are spatialized in the print arena (A roll of the dice…, 1897) like in the manuscript perimeter (Poems, 1887). The purpose of this paper is to question this scriptural lyrism and its various techniques, represented by Cocteau as well as Dotrement, Claudel, Tardieu or Butor. It aims to showing how these authors, through their innovative use of books materiality and of writing gesture, want to express the self in all his aspects, troubled, instabled, unfamiliar.
